about

This is an East coast Canadian train song. Calum’s great-great-grandfather, Malcolm MacCrimmon, spent most of his life working in railroad construction throughout Western Canada. He was contracted several times to grade roadbeds for the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 19th century and in 1902 he worked on the new low-level bridge that crosses the Saskatchewan River into Edmonton. This was the first rail line to connect South Edmonton with the outside world.
